EWWWW! dye made from INSECT PARTS! EWWWWW!

Find the FDA regs about how many insect parts and rodent droppings are allowed in food. Myself, I don't care. As a diabetic, I'm far more concerned about high fructose corn syrup in far too many items where it has no reason to be. Like bread and yogurt. I have an immune system, the rare mouse turd in my Rice Crispies is nothing more than a booster shot for my immune system.

But, but, but, INSECTS!

A large percentage of Humanity sees nothing at all distasteful about eating insects. What YOUR societal mores consider icky does not equal what ALL of Humanity should or does consider icky.

Silicon Dioxide in chili? Huh, somehow I never noticed Wendy's chili being particularly GRITTY.

Fertilizer in Subway rolls? Unless the Parts Per Million are specified, along with the amount needed to cause ill effects in humans, it's nothing more than a Fox News "News" item, intended to scare people. A news item planted by QUIZNOS, perhaps???

Beef tallow? You'll digest that with ease and pleasure. Partially hydrogenated fats, on the other hand, not so much.

If you keep from eating a dozen packages of Twinkies a day, beef tallow is NOT going to be a problem for you.

We have evolved over tens of thousands of years to eat and process and digest just about anything that walks, flies or swims on this planet.

Call me old fashioned, but I'd prefer Giant Chinese Cockroach to beaver anal glands, any day. Actually - I'd prefer ANYTHING to that! If you want to see me eat some insects you don't see everyday - I've posted them at my Thailand Youtube Channel. Enjoy the "Gross Grub Series"!

It’s time America did away with employer paid healthcare plans, individual plans, Medicaid and Medicare. We need a total revamp of the system, paid for, by taxing all processed food in America. Foods that should NOT be taxed: fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, whole grains, meat and dairy should be government subsidized to the extent that local farmers, dairies and butchers can provide these foods whenever possible.

Processed foods, on the other hand, SHOULD be taxed…BIG. A common sense system, such as this, would:

- Generate the taxes necessary to provide healthcare for ALL Americans, rich and poor, young and old.

- Reduce global warming by eliminating some of the demand (manufacturing, packaging and transport) of processed food.

- Reduce healthcare costs by decreasing future demand.

- Increase the future productivity and ingenuity of America as a whole.

Continuing our current system, but requiring that the rich pay for the poor, will do NOTHING to change the overall health of our nation. We ARE what we eat. As long as government makes it easy to make unhealthy choices, many of us will choose to do so, dooming ourselves and our planet at the same time.

It’s time we do something drastic to help our health, economy and environment. Being economically enticed to eat more raw foods would do wonders. We need to feel good, be proud of ourselves and go back to being a country the rest of the world admires.
