Great,
This is what all the liberals would have us living in, bamboo tents. Awesome, we could be just like all the other third world countries, hey maybe we could eat bamboo also or maybe build bamboo cars or even a bamboo space shuttle or even better some bamboo tanks and jets to protect our freedom. Get real people.

How green is bamboo used in the USA as a construction material (such as flooring) when you factor in shipping and harvesting, vs recycling local reclaimed flooring?

I've read that bamboo fabric has to be treated with very toxic chemicals to make it nice and soft like cotton. Bamboo is an awesome renewable resource that is finally getting the attention it deserves, but there is a little information missing in this article.

A leading research lab, NCL, in Pune, India, has developed an additive (solution) that makes 'bamboo-sticks' fire-proof, termite-proof & weather resistant & increased material-strength.

Here's an absolute eco-friendly replacement to not only plastic but also metals.

Upgrading your computer unnecessarily is not a green choice even if you do choose a bamboo covered 70% recycled materials one. I hope there are even more green choices on the market when my 4 year old Dell finally gives out.

Any use of bamboo that replaces plastic is excellent :)
