Amen, Christopher, amen. Rationalizing profligate consumption by making it “green” is still profligate consumption. But as long as the guilt is assuaged people feel better about themselves, and that’s what most of this is really about.

Don’t people realize that many of these solar powered products contain more embedded energy than they’ll ever produce. It’s more sustainable to just plug the stuff in or in some cases use batteries…yes, batteries.

You’re really doing a disservice to the sustainability movement by greenwashing over consumption of crap nobody needs (or really even wants.)
