Running Fence Installation Art by Christo

Christo Running Fence Installation Art

Christo and Jeanne Claude are notorious for denying any deeper meaning to their artwork, claiming they are simply attempting to beautify the planet – and that their work is all the more powerful for engaging natural environments in a temporary way. Over a million square feet of material went into this relatively early installation work – as well as a lot of hassling and haggling with governmental workers and land owners (requiring the pressure of nearly a dozen lawyers to finally push the project through). The results? A simple, stark white fence that meanders at a height of over fifteen feet for a length of over twenty five miles before finally terminating strangely into the sea. (Source)
