Poison dart frogs are only toxic in the wild. The frog on the photographer's hand is most likely a zoo park specimen. LIke the pitohui actually, the frogs get their toxin second-hand, from some type of particular insect/beetles they eat in the wild. Like flamingos eating brine shrimp that turns them pink, the frogs and pitohui eat the insects, which are poisonous, and then secrete the poison themselves in their skin and feathers.

[...] 6 Seemingly Innocent Assassins of the Animal Kingdom (BONUS: 12 Unassuming but Vicious Natural Predators) What do a cute red frog, a colorful octopus and a simple looking shell all have in common? They can all kill you - and quite painfully. Some freeze your respiratory system and slowly paralyze you completely while others do far worse and more quickly too. [...]

"The poison dart frog is the only animal that can kill a human merely by being touched." -- So the photographer's model? - Too bad. Not really. The poison is used on dart-tips and must enter the bloodstream to be effective. The natives who use it are very careful handling the frogs, because it can kill you if you have cuts in your skin.
