Red Wolf

Though the gray wolf has made an encouraging comeback, the red wolf is still endangered. A native of the Southeastern United States, the red wolf was extirpated and only recently have re-introductions into the wild been initiated. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Wolf
